Port Coquitlam Rock School students rock out

Covers and original compositions performed by Rock School students in grades 9 to 12 next month

The Fully Clothed Men, a nine-piece ensemble that covers Barenaked Ladies songs, is one of 38 bands playing at next month's Rock the Fox.

The shows, by students in Steve Sainas’ Rock School at Terry Fox secondary in Port Coquitlam, run Jan. 12, 13 and 14 in the Terry Fox Theatre (1260 Riverwood Gate).

The Fully Clothed Men perform Thursday but guests can also keep an eye out for Grade 12 student Jack Thomas, an amputee drummer who will appear in eight bands for the end-of-semester rock celebration.

The Fully Clothed Men are: Carson Reid (piano), Martin Grice (mandolin), Jake McRitchie (harmony vocals), Alyssa Hankey (harmony vocals), MacKenzie Calder (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), Kyle King (double bass), Reilley Gudaitis (electric bass), Matt Hughes (drums) and Jack Colbeck (guitar).

• Tuesday, Jan. 12: Jason Mraz, AJ Rafael, Aerosmith, Joshua Radin, Never Shout Never, Lily Allen, Catfish, Mayhem, GG Allin, Ambassadors, Vance Joy, Halsey, Panic at the Disco, Radiohead, Marilyn Manson and Deftones as well as original student compositions.

• Wednesday, Jan. 13: The Strokes, Front Bottoms, SMASH, Metallica, 5 Seconds of Summer, Best Coast, Dead Kennedys, Hootie & the Blowfish, Collective Soul, Beach Boys, Dick Dale, Chantays, Honest Bob and the Factory to Dealer Incentive and Primus as well as original student compositions.

• Thursday, Jan. 14: Evanescence, Jessie J, A Great Big World, Ingrid Michaelson, City & Colour, Mumford & Sons, Lights, Paramore, Barenaked Ladies, Jackson 5, Isis, Rob Zombie and Blink 182 as well as original student compositions.
