Grade 5 student Ruby Taylor (right) will see her winning design in a new mosaic now up at her Port Coquitlam school.
Taylor (pictured with her friend Katya Ostrovsky, also Grade 5) attends Coquitlam River elementary, which commissioned artist Susan Jessop to develop the mural to be placed on the outside entrance; it is the second piece Jessop has created for the school.
Students were asked to submit designs based on the idea of creating a better world. The winning design was used with donated ceramic tiles from InterStyle in Burnaby, with grout and cement donated by Modern Tiles in PoCo.
