A new theatre group for seniors will kick into action next week in Port Moody.
Expect Theatre - a company formed by actors Cathie Young and Gaye LePage - is offering classes at the Port Moody Arts Centre starting Oct. 18.
The sessions will run for eight weeks on Fridays, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the facility (2425 St. John's St.). No previous experience is required.
LePage said the course will include storytelling and theatre appreciation for participants who want to attend plays and discuss them later.
Students will also learn about performing as well as sets, costumes, lighting and sound. Students won't put on a show but "we will work toward a presentation for the last class," she said.
The cost is $80 for the eight weeks or $12 for a drop-in class. To register, call 604-931-2008 or email [email protected]. Meanwhile, Expect Theatre will host a solo show collective at PMAC on Oct. 25 at 7:15 p.m.
