Several Tri-City residents with the SFU Pipe Band are in the Big Apple this week to play Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

The six-time world champion band that includes Pipe Major Terry Lee, manager of Tartantown in Coquitlam, will perform at the famed New York City venue on Friday, and the concert will be recorded for the band's 11th CD.

The band will be accompanied by two Coquitlam champion highland dancers, Fiona Lee (Terry's daughter) and Breanna Watt, students of the Heather Jolley Highland Dance School.

And following the show, the band will take part in a Highland Arts Festival teaching weekend in Queens and it will host a Ceilidh on Saturday.
