Sign up starts Jan. 23 for spring break camps at Place des Arts

Kids in kindergarten to Grade 5 can sign up for the Spring Break Camp from March 13 to 17 while students in grades 6 to 9 can be part of the half-day intensives over the two-week period.

Already thinking about spring break?

Coquitlam’s Place des Arts will open its registration lines on Monday, Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. for camps and intensives in mid-March.

Kids in kindergarten to Grade 5 can sign up for the Spring Break Camp from March 13 to 17 while students in grades 6 to 9 can be part of the half-day intensives over the two-week period.

GROUP SHOW

The opening reception for the new Port Coquitlam art group show is next Thursday at Leigh Square Community Arts Village.

The event in the Michael Wright Art Gallery runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and includes displays from local painters, photographers and fibre artists. The exhibit closes Feb. 13.

 

FINE ARTS NIGHT

Students at a Coquitlam high school will transform their gym for a fine arts night this month.

Young musicians, artists and thespians at Dr. Charles Best secondary (2525 Como Lake. Ave.) will show their talent at the annual Evening of the Arts on Tuesday, Jan. 17, starting at 7 p.m.

Coffee and tea will be available by donation.

 

READING BUDS

Tri-City teens needing to log in some volunteer hours can sign up to help little ones read. 

Port Coquitlam’s Terry Fox Library is looking for students in grades 8 to 12 to mentor kids as they grasp their literacy skills.
