Place des Arts' faculty member James Hamilton will entrance with his sitar at a concert this Saturday in Coquitlam.
Hamilton, who has his doctorate in ethnomusicology, will play classical south Asian ragas as well as European and Middle Eastern music for the show, called Music of the World on the Sitar.
He will be joined by Navaro Franco on percussion and Sarabjit Matharu on the tabla.
A teacher for 25 years, Hamilton leads Eastern Star, a world music ensemble, and performs with the Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra.
