A Juno-nominated vocal group will sing its blend of jazz and pop a capella in Coquitlam this week.

Cadence - a Toronto band made up of Carl Berger (baritone and bass), Ross Lynde (tenor), Lucas Marchand (tenor) and Kurt Sampson (bass and vocal percussion) - will perform at the Evergreen Cultural Centre on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Since it started 10 years ago, Cadence has released four critically acclaimed studio albums: Cool Yule (2011), Speak Easy (2010), Twenty for One (2005) and Frost Free (2000).

Meanwhile, next week, three of the four actors who premiered in the 2010 Arts Club Theatre's production of The 39 Steps are reprising their roles for a tour that stops in Coquitlam.

Diana Coatsworth, Shawn Madonald and David Marr are back on stage in the comedic show based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same name.

Joining them this time is Jay Hindle who will portray the main character of Richard Hannay.

Two years ago, the melodrama won the Vancouver-based company six Jessie Richardson Theatre Award nominations including for outstanding ensemble performance.

The 39 Steps runs at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way) from March 12 to 16. Tickets are $39/$30/$15 at ECC.
