Meanwhile, Place des Arts has its first Day of the Arts camp of the season, running Friday, Sept. 19 - what was supposed to be Pro-D Day for students.

Classes will run at the Maillardville centre as five blocks, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Kids in kindergarten to Grade 5 can take part in the pop art-themed day. To register, call 604-664-1636 or visit placedesarts.ca.

A Port Coquitlam art association will host its first public demonstration since the summer break.

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Art Focus will welcome painter and graphic artist Denise Maxwell for a talk and show in the Outlet at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village (beside PoCo city hall). The free event runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
