Port Moody actor Allison Fligg is no strangers to the stage.

She has performed in productions of Cinderella, Broadway Bound and Bye Bye Birdie and has been dancing since she was four years old.

So the former Gleneagle secondary student will be right at home when she joins her fellow cast members at the Stanley Park Malkin Bowl in a Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) production of Legally Blonde: The Musical next weekend.

The show launches on July 8 and is expected to run until midway through August in conjunction with a performance of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Playing two characters in the hit musical, Fligg will be busy the moment the curtains go up. She plays the role of Vivienne's best friend and Delta New, a friend of lead character Elle.

"I change in and out of costumes during the shoe," she said.

But Fligg is not the only Tri-City actor that will be featured in this year's Theatre Under the Stars performances.

Ryan Purdy will play the role of Benjamin Burton in TUTS' rendition of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

"There's not one person who can't associate with this show," he said. "It pokes fun at big business."

How to Succeed is a comedy written by Frank Loesser, and features several popular musical numbers.

Theatre Under the Stars runs between July 8 and August 17 at the Malkin Bowl (610 Pipeline Road, Vancouver) in Stanley Park. Tickets are available by calling 604-696-4295 or going online at www.tuts.ca.
