The Evergreen Cultural Centre welcomes violinist Nicholas Wright for next week's Musical Mornings concert.
Hosted by concert pianist and producer Sarah Hagen, the salon-type concerts begin with coffee, tea and treats, followed by a 75-minute classical concert led by Hagen and featuring world-class artists.
Wright's background boasts gigs at major concert halls around the world and performances with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Royal Oman Symphony and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
He was the youngest member of the London Symphony Orchestra in 2003; during his tenure there the England native held the first violin sub-principal position. Since 2012 he has been the VSO's assistant concertmaster.
Wright was trained as a scholar at the Royal College of Music in London and is currently head of the violin department at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
Nicholas Wright performs at Musical Mornings at the ECC on March 25 at 10:30 a.m. (reception at 10 a.m.). Tickets are $20/$15 at www.evergreenculturalcentre.ca or 604-927-6555.
