Voices for smiles

Clubs from Gleneagle and Centennial secondary schools are teaming up to support a common cause tonight in the Voices 2012 Benefit Concert.

Gleneagle's Global Issues Club, together with Centennial's Me2We and Red Cross clubs, are putting on the concert to raise money for Operation Smile, an international NGO that provides reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.

Organizers hope the event will grow to include more schools in the district in a friendly fundraising competition.

Voices is on tonight (Wednesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gleneagle secondary (1195 Lansdowne Dr., Coquitlam) and features local talent, from youth bands to solo artists.

Tickets are $5 or two for $8 and can be purchased at the door. Contact [email protected] for more info.
