B.C. scribes can weave an original tale for the Burnaby Writers' Society's 47th annual writing contest.

Entrants have until May 31 to write a page of prose or poetry on the theme of "wood." The work can be in any form or genre as long as it is complete on one page.

Prizes of $200, $100 and $50 will be awarded for the best submissions. And the winners will be invited to take part in a public reading this fall. The entry fee is $5 per submission or $10 for three pages.
