Two Tri-City youth will appear in the Vancouver International Dance Festival, which starts on Friday.

Port Coquitlam's Michelle Khoo, 14, a Grade 9 student at Magee secondary in Vancouver, and Cierra Munro, 16, of Port Moody, are part of Mustard Seed - a collaboration between the Goh Ballet and the Guangdong Modern Dance Company of China.

Khoo has been with Goh since the age of four while Munro, a Grade 11 student at Coquitlam's Dr. Charles Best secondary in Coquitlam, has been with the company for eight years.

Working with the Chinese group "is great because how they move is really amazing," Munro said. "They are a lot more experienced and it's great to work beside them."

Their performance is March 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. at the Vancouver Playhouse. For tickets, visit vidf.ca.
