TREEFEST CALL

Tri-City artists wanting to showcase and sell their work at one of the region's most popular end-of-summer festivals have until the end of August to register.

ArtsConnect, the Tri-Cities' arts umbrella group, is looking for artists to exhibit at the 18th annual Treefest, which happens Sept. 17 at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.

Art displays are set up by - or inside, depending on the weather - the Henry Esson Young building between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Helen Daniels, ArtsConnect's executive director, said a wide range of art is needed "both in mediums represented and also reflecting the rich multicultural fabrick of our community."

Treefest is a free family-friendly event that includes guided tree tours at the historic site as well as a children's tree tour, a heritage building walk, community group displays, live entertainment and food.

Artists can apply by downloading a registration form from www.artsconnect.ca (under Calls for Talent). For more information, call 604-931-8255 or email [email protected].

FINNIE TIME

ArtsConnect's next ArtistCircle is tomorrow (Thursday) at noon at Finnie's Garden, on the Riverview Hospital grounds.

The session is aimed at bringing together creative minds for networking and collaboration. A potluck lunch will be held; kids are welcome to attend, as well.

To register, email [email protected] or call 604-931-8255.
