The weather may be scorching in the Tri-Cities, but a business wants you to be thinking about trick or treating already.
This month, Spirit Halloween is opening its outlet at the former Independent grocery store (455 North Rd., Coquitlam) along with outlets in

- Chilliwack
- Kamloops
- Kelowna
- Langley
- Maple Ridge
- Richmond
- Vancouver
The Victoria and West Van sites opened today (Aug. 14).
With 78 days to go, Halloween 2023 is expected to be filled with Barbies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Wednesdays following the success of those films and television series this year.
Other merchandise newly licensed to Spirit Halloween is from:

- Harry Potter
- Universal Monsters
- DC Villains
- Poppy Playtime
- Mars Attacks!
But costumes aren’t the only product at Spirit Halloween: The retailer also sells decorations, props and animatronics.
In past years, Spirit Halloween was located in Port Coquitlam near the Home Depot store.
