Gwen Chute hopes to make a return visit to Anmore/Belcarra as a school trustee. The long-time Belcarra resident was previously a trustee in the villages between 1972-1996.
"My focus has always been on providing the best education possible for the benefit of the student as an individual and for society as a whole. Public education is the foundation of our democracy and the reason Canada is such a desirable nation. It needs to be better funded and therefore more equitable. In the 70's I helped build SD43, in the 80's I worked to maintain it and now I want to restore it," she said in a prepared statement.
