Big Hearts Homecare won business of the year (30+ employees) at the 2022 Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) is one step closer to handing out more hardware.

A total of 80 businesses, non-profits and organizations make up a combined 100 nominations for this year's Business Excellence Awards.

This includes Hillcrest and Parkland Players Ltd., a Coquitlam child care provider that leads the way with four nominations across three of the annual event's eight categories.

As well, there are seven businesses with three or more nods and 13 with at least two, ranging from in industry and company size — small, medium and large.

"Our Chamber takes pride in bringing together business and community leaders for a premier gala to celebrate and recognize outstanding organizations and individuals that demonstrate excellence in business and a passion for the community," said TCCC CEO Leslie Courchesne.

More than 1,000 organizations across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra are represented by the Chamber.

Courchesne explained two panels of five anonymous judges will pick the finalists ahead of the 2023 awards night after reviewing the nomination forms for each category.

Nearly 100 individual businesses were nominated last year for the 2022 excellence awards, which were then cut down to 37 finalists.

The 2023 Business Excellence Awards gala is tentatively set for April 29 at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam (2080 United Blvd.), where the winners will be unveiled.

For more information about the honours, you can visit the TCCC's website.
