New BC Centre for Disease Control data for June 28 to July 4, 2021, breaks down the Tri-Cities into five neighbourhoods for more detailed information: North Coquitlam, Southwest Coquitlam, Southeast Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody-Anmore-Belcarra.

The Tri-Cities has reached another significant milestone in combating COVID-19.

While the pandemic is not over yet, efforts to get vaccinated have worked with Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam now joining the 80% immunization club among other communities in Fraser Health.

On Monday (July 5), the two cities reached that number nearly one month after Port Moody-Anmore-Belcarra became the first across the authority to do so in terms of eligible residents aged 12 years and older who've received their first vaccine jab.

The result of the increase in doses inoculated has led to now 0% positivity rates in sub-regions like Port Moody and southwest Coquitlam, while the rest maintain either 1% or 2% with fewer cases of the virus detected.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control's (BCCDC) latest seven-day report — between June 28 and July 4 — only three COVID-19 infections were detected across the Tri-Cities.
