The village of Anmore is under a boil water advisory after elevated levels of total coliform were found during sampling.
A notice issued Tuesday said no e.coli bacteria was found.
Total coliforms are bacteria that naturally occur in the environment and can be found in feces, soil and vegetation, and their presence in drinking water does not necessarily represent an immediate health concern, stated the notice.
The municipality is now flushing the distribution system and further sampling will be done.
What to do
Do not drink the water without boiling first.
Only use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing ready-to-eat foods, washing dishes or making infant formula.
Avoid bathing young children in a bathtub. Use a handheld shower where possible.
Boil water for one minute (rolling boil). Let it cool before using.
Store treated water in sanitary containers and keep refrigerated
Other water treatments
Chlorine: household bleach (5%): add two drops per litre and let stand for 30 minutes. If the water is cloudy add four drops per litre.

Most household Brita type water filters will not remove microbial contaminates.
