Two months after he disappeared from his family's home in Port Coquitlam, Mounties today (Thursday) renewed their appeal to find Jafar Imanpour.

The Iranian native was last seen on Sept. 25 at 5:15 p.m. when he told his relatives he was going out for a 15-minute walk in the Toronto Street area of PoCo.

Efforts to locate him have turned up no results.

"I think it would be devastating for any family to have to go through what the Imanpour family has been going through for the past two months," Coquitlam RCMP Supt. Claude Wilcott said in news release.

"The truth is we don't have any active leads right now but I know someone must have seen something. So I'm asking the citizens of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam to rack their brains and talk to their friends and neighbours and try to remember where they were and what they saw and heard in the hours and days after Mr. Imanpour was last seen.

"What you think is a trivial bit of information could be the turning point that leads us to Mr. Imanpour and Mr. Imanpour back to his family where he belongs."

Imanpour's son, Mehrdad Imanpour, said they are living a nightmare. "We have tried every possible way to find him but could not," he said. "The only way left for us is getting help from the public."

A retired school teacher who was visiting from Iran, Imapour is 74 years old and is described as 5'11" tall, 192 pounds with a medium build, balding with white hair and a white moustache.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue baseball hat, black jacket, blue jeans, black runners and glasses.

Anyone with information on Jafar Imanpour's whereabouts is asked to call 604-945-1550.
