Early risers and night owls will get a discount on B.C. Ferries sailings this summer.
The ferry service’s annual sunrise and sunset promotion starts June 1 and means that more than 2,100 early morning and late evening sailings will be cheaper than usual.
Select sailings will be discounted to either $49 or $59 for a one-way standard passenger vehicle and driver on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen-Duke Point and Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay routes. Select return trips are also available for $49 on the Horseshoe Bay – Langdale route.
Recreational vehicles longer than 20 feet (6.1 metres) will pay $3.25 per additional foot, half the normal price, on more than 1,100 sailings on the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen – Duke Point routes.
“These promotions not only provide flexibility for our customers to save on their summer travel, but also help reduce congestion by spreading vehicle traffic to less popular sailings throughout the summer season,” said Janet Carson, B.C. Ferries’ vice-president of marketing and customer experience. “We have been running these promotions on select routes and sailings based on where we see the ability to shift traffic throughout our system. We look forward to welcoming our customers on board this summer.”
Space on these promotional sailings is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The reduced fares run until Sept. 30.
Passengers can make reservations on the sailings for $10 if booked at least seven days in advance.
