A Belcarra man was arrested last week after rolling his vehicle on Bedwell Bay Road.

BC Ambulance paramedics and firefighters contacted the Port Moody Police shortly before 10 p.m. on June 12 to attend a roll-over in the 2300-block of Bedwell Bay. Nobody was hurt but officers believed the driver, a 53-year-old man, was drunk.

He was arrested and taken to the police department, where his breath samples were analyzed at over three times the legal limit.

It wasn't the man's first run-in with the PoMo Police. In May 2009, the same officer arrested the same man after another alcohol-related accident along the Ioco Road corridor. In that incident the man also blew over three times the legal limit and was later convicted.

Const. Luke Van Winkel said given the man's history, the police are serving the man with notice they'll be seeking greater punishment for the latest offence. The man's name cannot be released because charges have not yet been approved by the Crown.
