If you hop on or off SkyTrain at the Lafarge Lake–Douglas station in Coquitlam, you’ll see a series of tarot card images designed by visual artist Alyson Davies.
Installed in April and up until next March, her Blue Earth Tarot collection (including “Hierophant,” pictured) highlights the mystical powers associated with tarot cards — marrying the seasons and astrology with scenes of the body and the natural world.
Davies, who is based in Edmonton and has a master’s degree in fine arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, partnered with TransLink and the Art Gallery at Evergreen in Coquitlam to showcase the cards.
The display is part of the 2023 Capture Photography Festival selected exhibition program.
