Body found inside Coquitlam home following evening fire

Coquitlam first responders tended to a blaze at a McTavish Court residence near Hockaday Park, and an investigation is ongoing

A body was found inside a Coquitlam home after a fire took place last night (Sept. 8).

RCMP spokesperson Const. Deanna Law confirmed to the Tri-City News an investigation is ongoing into the discovery.

She says police responded to the blaze around 9 p.m. on Wednesday at a home on 3300-block McTavish Court — located just west of Hockaday Park and the Coquitlam River.

Law says no other details are being released at this time.

Coquitlam Fire Rescue explained to the Tri-City News as the investigation is under RCMP jurisdiction, information about the fire itself will be released once it's concluded.
