Jerome Bouvier of Coquitlam is one of 35 persons named to receive a 2012 B.C. Community Achievement Award, it was announced Friday via a povincial government press release.
Bouvier is executive director of the PoCoMo Youth Services Society and the innovator of a unique program that reaches to at-risk youth in the Tri-Cities. Based on establishing relationships with youth, the Project Reach Out Bus travels to areas where youth gather, provides support and services and, as a result, positively affects the lives of young people.
Bouvier also heads up the annual PoCoMo Wheechair Tennis Classic tournament.
Bouvier the other award recipients will be recognized in a formal presentation at Government House in Victoria on April 25. Each will receive a certificate and medallion designed by B.C. artist Robert Davidson.
