Brewery wall in downtown Port Coquitlam will get new mural

Patina Brewing owner says mould that had seeped through the walls meant the outer walls had to be sealed, resulting in the painting over of an old mural

A new mural will go up on the outside wall of a microbrewery and restaurant that opened this month in downtown Port Coquitlam.

Greg Moore, the former PoCo mayor and co-owner of Patina Brewing on Marpole Avenue, said the mural had to be painted over because the building, which was previously occupied by Inno Bakery, had mould that had seeped out the walls, meaning the structure had to be sealed from the outside — and the mural had to go.

Moore said the old mural plaque was kept and the Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society was contacted to document the artwork.
