More than 150 businesses have been nominated in six categories for the 2011 Spike Business Awards representing a large cross-section of Port Moody entrepreneurs.
Franchises, independent stores and big-name outlets are all represented in categories, which include: arts in business, street appeal, customer service, environment, technology and innovation and tourist destination.
"We want to see business owners from across Port Moody attend the Spike Awards," said Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini. "It's a valuable networking opportunity, regardless of the size of the business."
Throughout September Port Moody residents were asked to select their favourite Port Moody businesses for the event, which corresponds with Small Business Week.
All finalists and winners are acknowledged at a gala evening at city hall.
