It's back to school for trustees newly elected and re-elected to School District 43.
Several dates have been set aside for meetings to bring trustees up to speed on board issues, according to Patricia Gartland, the incoming superintendent, who takes over from Tom Grant in the new year.
Beginning Dec. 3, and running through to Jan. 13, the trustees will have several opportunities to get to know one another and SD43's senior managers. As well, the BC School Trustees Association is also holding an academy for new trustees Dec. 4 to 6.
Opportunities for the public to see the new board at work include Dec. 9, the inaugural meeting of the board at Winslow Centre; Dec. 16, a regular board meeting in the district board offices; and Jan. 13, the first meeting of 2015.
