Organizers of the biggest Francophone festival on the west coast need a hand with the upcoming fête at Coquitlam’s Mackin Park.
The 31st edition of Festival du Bois runs from March 6 to 8 in the Maillardville neighbourhood, showcasing French-Canadian and francophone songs, food and activities.
As in past years, an all-ages contra dance will open the fest in the Grand Chapiteau (Big Tent) with tunes from The Sybaritic String Band, Vancouver's premier contradance band, with caller Maureen Collier.
And, on Saturday and Sunday, the music lineup includes the Yves Lambert Trio, Tipsy 3, Cristian de la Luna, Le Flo Franco, Beauséjour, Blackthorn and Roger Dallaire featuring two-time Canadian grand master fiddle champion Daniel Gervais.
As well, there will be roving performers and treats from the sugar shack.
