What do you know about Port Moody's budget, and what changes would you propose?

"I've viewed the budget and looked at the five-year financial plan, and I think there's opportunity to help Port Moody grow but there are also things that haven't been put in the budget, such as the costs of road systems and transit."

What issues will the Evergreen Line bring (good or bad) and how should those be handled?

"One of the things that comes in with a SkyTrain line is crime. Do we add more police officers or don't we? Do city services increase to maintain the cleanliness of the city around stations? Ultimately, it's a great thing for our city, the ability to get in and out of Port Moody and get out of our cars is a huge positive."

What does Port Moody's "small-town charm" mean to you, and specify how you would preserve it.

"The charm is what entices us all to live here, regardless of how our family has grown or the size of a new house we might need. We have to keep that charm but we're a growing city, and keeping this a seaside city is paramount for all of us."

What large infrastructure/capital project do you think Port Moody should build next?

"The lands down on the water, east of Rocky Point Park, are a concern for many citizens. I think industrial land is not a good choice - it should be more residential - but when we do that, infrastructure like roads and other services should increase."

Name two other top issues facing the city, and how you would tackle them.

"We've had record taxes in this city and I don't believe in the fact that we'd be able to lower them, it doesn't make financial sense. We need to maintain taxes for the services we have - residents are tapped out. And I think there's some way to make housing affordable for families, whether it's more multi-level living or putting a cap on sizing and pricing of houses may be a possibility as well."
