Next month, TV sensation Chop Shop opens its third location on Pacific Avenue, in the hub of the up and coming neighborhood behind Coquitlam Centre.
"We're going to rock out the burbs," says Daniel Hudon, who opened the first Chop Shop in downtown Vancouver in 2005 with partner, Michael Procter. The shop went on to be featured in a popular reality TV show of the same name, paving the way for the Chop Shop franchise concept.
"I'm so excited. We are taking what we've learned with our other salons and turning this into something really special," he says. "This will be a showcase salon. Our concept store."
Chop Shop is a rock 'n' roll hair salon with an edgy, garage style. Known for offering innovative and progressive hairstyles in a vibrant atmosphere, Chop Shop Coquitlam will feature 5 to 8 other stylists who all know how to make hair experiences fun. The talented "style mechanics" can offer a Tune Up, Paint Job, Pin Striping or the Classic Cut & Chop, all at affordable and accessible prices.
But what makes Chop Shop really unique is that it's one of very few places that are open to the whole family. When mom and dad both get their hair cut, their child's cut is free.
"That's what sets us apart," says Hudon. "At the end of the day, hair can be a family outing." With rock and roll playing in the background and with an open concept, interactive space, the salon is bright, loud and fun.The Coquitlam location will also feature Chop Shop's signature, full-service colour bar.
Chop Shop Coquitlam will host a VIP event on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 6 pm to 9 pm, featuring free blowouts, 50% cuts and all products and free snacks and drinks. Doors officially open on Saturday, Dec. 14.
