Coquitlam's City Centre Aquatic Complex will be closed for annual maintenance for more than a month.
The complex, 1210 Pinetree Way, will be shut down on Sept. 4 and reopen Oct. 11. The fitness centre, however, will only be closed for a week, reopening on Sept. 11 but with different hours. It will be open Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays, 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and closed Sundays.
Workers will do:
• extensive maintenance to the movable floor;
• drain the pools and deep clean the tanks;
• regrout tiles;
• resurface the floor surrounding the leisure pool;
• clean the fitness centre and equipment, lockers, change rooms, showers, life jackets and pool toys;
• mechanical system inspection and service as needed.
Options for swimmers include the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) and Eagle Ridge outdoor pool (2689 Guildford Way). Fitness facilities are available at Pinetree Community Centre (1260 Pinetree Way) and Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Court).
