Unexpected snowfall across the higher elevations of Metro Vancouver has led Simon Fraser University (SFU) to cancel morning classes.
The university made the announcment at 8:50, warning commuters to return home due to deteriorating road conditions on Burnaby Mountain.
1/2: SFU's Burnaby campus is experiencing unforecasted weather conditions. Road conditions on Burnaby Mountain are very poor. Please delay commuting to Burnaby campus at this time. All classes that start before noon are cancelled.

2/2: If you are on Burnaby mountain, please stay on Burnaby Mountain until road conditions improve. If you are in transit, return home or to another campus. An update will be posted at 10am regarding afternoon classes. Vancouver and Surrey campuses remain at regular operations.

Anyone already at the Burnaby campus are being asked to remain there until road conditions improve.
