Communities in Bloom judges arrive in Coquitlam this week

Judges Evelyn Alemanni of Elfin Forest, Calif., and Jim Baird of Rothesay, N.B. will be in town from July 18 to 21 evaluating the city's civic pride, beautification and quality of life, according to a press release.

Coquitlam businesses and residents are being encouraged to tidy up their properties ahead of the arrival of Communities in Bloom judges next week.

Judges Evelyn Alemanni of Elfin Forest, Calif., and Jim Baird of Rothesay, N.B. will be in town from July 18 to 21 evaluating the city's civic pride, beautification and quality of life, according to a press release. 

Coquitlam is competing against Edmonton and Wood Buffalo, Alta., and Sarnia, Ont. in the large category, and results will be announced in September.

Communities in Bloom is a non-profit "committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, beautification and to improving quality of life through community participation and a national challenge," the organization said in a press release.
