Construction is set to begin on a second Evergreen Line station early this month.
The Evergreen Line will tie into the existing SkyTrain system at Lougheed Town Centre Station in Burnaby, servicing travel to and from Port Moody and Coquitlam when the line is complete in the summer of 2016.
SkyTrain users can expect to see temporary fencing around work zones, construction parking and offices, daytime construction running Mondays through Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., and the use of heavy machinery.
Work will be taking place near the west station entrance at Austin Avenue and Lougheed Highway, as well as near the bus loop south of Gatineau Place.
The upper west station entrance will be closed the week of June 10 and will remain closed throughout the construction period. Access to the lower west station will remain open.
Work on the Moody Centre Station started last week, with changes to the West Coast Express parking lot to accommodate a new exit route and a new parking lot to the east.
Work is also ongoing to prepare for tunnelling on Barnet Highway near View Street in Port Moody.
