Coquitlam RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect after a 16-year-old boy was robbed recently in Harrier Park.
The teen was walking through the park, located off Runnel and Falcon drives in Coquitlam, at about 4 p.m. Saturday. He passed by the baseball diamonds and was on a small trail just to their northeast side when he looked down to find his Go Card in his wallet.
At that point, an unknown suspect approached the teen, punched him in the face and took his wallet before fleeing.
The suspect is described as a male, possibly Caucasian, wearing a black hoodie that covered his face.
The teen suffered severe but non-life threatening facial injuries.
If you saw a male running away or acting suspicious in the area on the afternoon of March 9, or if you have any information about the incident, you're asked to call police at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2013-6542; or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
