Three more names are on the ballot for the Coquitlam council byelection next month.
On Thursday, former Olympic wrestler Chris Wilson declared his candidacy for one of two open councillor jobs, saying he wants to be "a champion for our city."
Wilson, the executive director of KidSport Tri-Cities and past president of the Coquitlam Sport Centre User Association, is campaigning for local jobs, affordable housing and responsible development. This past spring, Wilson ran for the NDP against MLA Doug Horne in the riding of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain.
Also in the byelection race is business owner Bonita Zarrillo, who says she is focused on building the local economy, lobbying for more public transit and pushing for fair property taxes.
A member of the Tri-Cities' Chamber of Commerce economic development committee, a vice-chair of the parent advisory council at her children's school as well as a former member of the city's arts and culture committee, Zarrillo is completing a management certificate in human resources.
And Teri Towner also announced Thursday she will file her nomination papers.
The special events officer for Share Family and Community Services, Towner has volunteered for many years including with DPAC, for which she recently won the BCCPAC award for excellence in parent leadership, and the Terry Fox runs in Coquitlam and Port Moody.
A photographer with SNAP, Towner has also been nominated for other local accolades such as the SportMedBC leader of the year and a Spirit of Community prize from the Society for Community Development.
The two council seats opened up after former councillors Linda Reimer and Selina Robinson were elected MLAs in May's provincial election.

Two all-candidates meetings have been announced for people running for the two council seats open in the Oct. 26 Coquitlam byelection. They are:
Oct. 16: The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce will host its all-candidates meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at the David Lam campus of Douglas College. Registration is not required. For more information, visit www.tricitieschamber.com.
