Officials from the Coquitlam Foundation deposited $28,000 into the coffers of a Coquitlam arts hub this month.

The philanthropic group presented the grant to the Evergreen Cultural Centre for its art programs this season.

The money came from the facility’s Evergreen Arts Education Endowment Fund, of which the contributions and investments are managed by the foundation.

"We are extremely grateful for the support of the community and the Coquitlam Foundation," said Philip Hartwick, Evergreen's executive director, in a news release.

"These funds will go a long way to helping us provide learning opportunities through our new Arts Education Department. Thank you for your tremendous generosity."

Founded in 1996, the Pinetree Way centre offers educational programs as well as professional theatrical productions, dance and music performances and art exhibitions.
