Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a May 1 sexual assault on the Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam border.
According to Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung, a woman was assaulted around 10:30 p.m. The victim was unharmed in the attack and was able to provide the suspect's description to Coquitlam RCMP Sex Crimes Unit investigators.
Investigators believe the suspect got off bus number 3322 on Route 169 at approximately 10:15 p.m. with the victim, then followed her to an area on Como Lake near Westwood where the alleged sex assault took place.
The suspect is described as amanin his early 20s, about5' 7" tall with a medium build and adark complexion and hair (he may be a First Nations individual); atthe time, he was wearing aball cap and light-coloured clothing.He was last heading westbound from Westwood.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault or who may recognize the man in the composite sketch is asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP Sex Crimes Unit at 604-945-1550, quoting quote file 2014-11555.
