Coquitlam cops seek hit-and-run driver who rammed into a metal fence — then left

No one was hurt from the Coquitlam City Centre incident, but a woman got out of her vehicle, assessed the damage and drove away.

A woman's identity is sought from a Coquitlam hit-and-run collision last month.

And police are now turning to the public for help.

While no known injuries were reported, a section of the metal meridian fencing on Pinetree Way was significantly damaged and the driver of the vehicle involved left the scene before RCMP arrived.

Mounties responded to the City Centre incident at 1:45 p.m. on June 9 between Lincoln and Anson avenues.

Spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins said a dark grey Honda CR-V was travelling south on Pinetree when it suddenly collided with the middle fence.

She added the driver then got out of their vehicle, assessed the damage and drove away, leaving their bumper at the crash site.

"We know the driver is aware of the collision as they were observed exiting the vehicle to look at the substantial damage," Hodgins said in a statement today (July 13).

"We are asking the driver to do the right thing, and contact our investigators."

The female driver is described as:

  • White
  • 50–60 years old
  • Short blond hair
