Teachers will walk out of School District 43 classes on Wednesday, May 28, according to a BC Teachers' Federation press release.

The threat of the day-long strike is an effort to bring the provincial government to the bargaining table with a realistic proposal, according to BCTF president Jim Iker, who held a press conference this morning.

The province has been broken up into four regions, with Vancouver, New Westminster and several other school districts out on Monday, Langley and Richmond, on Tuesday, School District 43 on Wednesday, and Burnaby and Surrey out on Thursday, along with the other districts in the province on one-day walkouts.

No school district will be out more than one day and all classes will return as normal on Friday, May 29.
