A week after Nicola Candeloro went missing from his Westwood Plateau home, Coquitlam RCMP say they are continuing their investigation but have no new information.

The 44-year-old left his home sometime between 10 and 11 a.m. last Thursday to go for a walk in the Eagle Mountain area, and was spotted later that afternoon near the playing fields.

Cpl. Jamie Chung said investigators have asked Coquitlam city parks and public works employees to keep an eye out for the fit-looking man, who is Caucasian man with short, salt-and-pepper hair and brown eyes; he is about 5'11" tall and weighs 177 lb., and was last seen wearing a white tank top, grey shorts, white runners and, possibly, sunglasses.

"We are asking them to be our eyes and ears," Cpl. Chung said.

In addition, the police are contacting hospitals, and bus and cab companies. "We believe he is still in the area of Coquitlam," Cpl. Chung confirmed.

His family is also reportedly actively searching for Candeloro, but Cpl. Chung said they didn't want to speak to the local media at this time.

Last Friday, Coquitlam Search and Rescue crews conducted a large search in the wilderness area on Eagle Mountain.

Anyone with information is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2014-18211.
