Older residents in the federal riding of Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam are invited to be part of the MP's new constituency seniors advisory council.

The group, which mirrors Liberal MP Ron McKinnon's constituency youth council that started last summer, will have its first meeting on Friday, March 3.

Among the topics to be discussed include the national dementia strategy, the Old Age Security pension and healthcare needs, for example. The feedback will be used to inform McKinnon as he makes representations in Ottawa.

"As part of my commitment to meaningful engagement with local residents, I am making it easier for seniors to have their say closer to home," McKinnon said in a news release issued today (Wednesday).

Participants will meet several times a year, between two and five hours per month. To join, call 604-927-1080 or email [email protected].
