Coquitlam RCMP have released few details about a shooting at Coquitlam Centre mall this afternoon.
However, a watch officer has confirmed that a call came in at about 2:45 p.m. today, Friday. The shooter apparently drove off and is still on the loose.
The victim suffered non-lifethreatening injuries.
A wtness who was volunteering for the Heart and Stroke Foundation which was holding an event in the mall parking lot where the shooting occured said she heard six shots fired. Shelley Lycan said she helped the victim out of his truck while the victim's girl friend asked her for a bandaid. The victim appeared to be shot in the arm and was bleeding a lot, Lycan told The News.
Meanwhile, police are checking out the parking lot on the Barnet Highway side of the mall.
