Several crime hot spots have been identified in the Tri-Cities as part of the RCMP's most recent CompStat alert released on Thursday.
According to Mounties, the neighbourhood between Hartley Avenue and Brigantine Drive between Schooner Street and Fawcett Road has seen an uptick in break-ins to businesses. The incidents in the United Boulevard area appear to be occurring between Friday and Tuesday and the perpetrators cut fences to gain entry to the properties, said police.
Another business area in Port Coquitlam was also targeted by thieves over the last two weeks of the CompStat reporting period.
Retail and business yards along Mary Hill Road from Wilson to Kingsway Avenue were broken into in incidents that took place between Friday and Monday.
A third neighbourhood in Coquitlam's northeast area has seen a rise in thefts from vehicles along Pinetree Way between Robson Drive and Plateau Boulevard.
The suspect or suspects in these cases have been targeting the vehicles overnight on Fridays and Mondays in the last two weeks.
