Coquitlam Mounties are asking for the public’s help to find the driver of a hit-and-run that happened near the Como Lake Village Shopping Centre last Friday, Dec. 22.

Today, Dec. 29, police issued a call for witnesses and video footage — including surveillance, dash cam and cellphone video — to help identify the driver who allegedly struck two pedestrians.

RCMP say the pedestrians were on the sidewalk and crossing one of the strip mall’s driveway when the incident happened at around 10:30 a.m.; they were not seriously hurt.

The female driver of an older, boxy model, dark blue Jeep SUV, who was leaving the mall parking lot, did not remain on scene after the collision, police say.

She is described as having shoulder-length brown curly hair.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run or has video footage is asked to call the Coquitlam detachment at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-34343.
