Coquitlam RCMP renews call to find man who vanished 60 years ago

Police have issued a news release to locate Le-Roi La France, who was 19 when he disappeared on March 20, 1964.

Coquitlam Mounties are renewing calls to find a man who went missing from his family home six decades ago.

Today, Jan. 16, police issued a news release to locate Le-Roi La France, who was 19 when he disappeared on March 20, 1964.

Today, La France would be 79 years old.

The Coquitlam detachment took over the case in 2016 and “although foul play is not suspected, it has also not been completely ruled out,” Cpl. Alexa Hodgins stated in the release.

A man of Métis heritage, La France is described as:

  • 5’5” tall
  • slim build
  • brown short hair
  • brown eyes
  • wears glasses

“Throughout the years, police have continued their search efforts in locating missing person, Le-Roi, who has not been seen since 1964,” said Staff Sgt. Ed Yoshiyama, Coquitlam RCMP Investigative Services Support (ISS) commander, in the release. 

“This year, Le-Roi will have been missing for 60 years. We haven’t given up hope that we might find new information to aid in our search for answers in this historical missing case.”
