Police are on the hunt for a man they believe is responsible for two bank robberies in Coquitlam and a third in Vancouver that occurred in late March.

Warren David Bonsell has a lengthy criminal record and is well-known to police, according to Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung. The 45-year-old may also have a weapon and anyone who sees the suspect should not approach him and call 911 immediately.

"He is dangerous man," Chung said. "He is known to us and he has several outstanding warrants. He is not new to the system."

Some of the warrants include possession of stolen property, possession of break-in instruments and break and enter.

The Coquitlam bank robberies took place in the North Road area in the last week of March. RCMP investigators compared notes with their counterparts at the Vancouver Police Department and narrowed down the list of suspects to Bonsell.

He is described as a 5'9" Caucasian male who weighs approximately 170 lbs with short greying-brown hair.

Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2014-7245. Those who wish to report information anonymously can do so by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or go to www.solvecrime.ca.
