Coquitlam RCMP seek info on late-night smash and grab

Two dramatic videos showing a smash-and-grab jewelry heist at the Hudson's Bay store in Langley in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 7 have been posted on the Coquitlam RCMP website in the hopes of getting more information about the suspects.

The security footage shows a black pick-up truck, likely a newer model Toyota, backing into the east doors with a 2 x 8 board and then two men in coveralls smashing the display cases and removing the jewelry.

In all over $200,000 in jewelry was stolen. When police arrived on the scene after being notified by the alarm, the suspects had already left.

Damage to the rear of the truck is likely.

Coquitlam RCMP has issued a press release and posted the videos becausetwo days later, on the morning of April 9, members of the local force responded to a break-in at Hudson's Bay on Barnet Highway that was similar to the one that occurred in Langley.
