A man with bipolar disorder who in 2009 carjacked a vehicle with actor Carly Pope inside and crashed into a building in downtown Vancouver has gone missing from Colony Farm.
David Fomradas is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large after the 34-year-old was reported to be on an unauthorized absence from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital.
"He was on a pass," said Cpl. Jamie Chung. "It was simply a case that he didn't return."
Coquitlam RCMP warned the public that anyone who sees Fomradas should not approach him and immediately notify police.
He is described as a Caucasian male, with fair complexion who is 5'11" tall and weighs 161 lbs. He has a medium build, brown hair with stubble and blue eyes.
Carly Pope and her brother Kris were sitting in their vehicle in 2009 when Fomradas ran towards the car and jumped on the hood.
When Kris exited the vehicle Fomradas jumped in the drivers seat, putting the vehicle in reverse and slamming into the CBC building in downtown Vancouver.
The B.C. Review Board found him not criminally responsible for a host of charges related to the incident, including car theft, two counts of aggravated assault, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon and mischief.
During a 2010 decision the board said that Fomradas posed a risk to the public but was mentally stable as long as he adhered to his medication regime.
At the time of the incident Pope starred in a show called Outlaw and has acted in other shows like 24 and Californication.
